The Boston Bruins have clinched a playoff spot on game 81 of their regular season. They also set an NHL record while doing so scoring the three quickest short handed goals on the same power play against them. They would score the first one at :32, then 1:21 and 1:36 all in the second period against the Carolina Hurricanes. In other NHL news the Montreal Canadians lose in overtime to the Toronto Maple Leafs however the loss in overtime gets them a point in the standings and that adds up to a playoff spot. So the only spot left for playoff contention is the Rangers Flyers game, the winner of the game moves on. Keith Tkachuk retires and Ovechkin netted 49 and 50 yesterday with a game to play.
