| Rangers need a Recipe for Home cooking!
|
|
The Rangers just can't find the back of the net on home ice. The last
two home games would only produce one goal scored and their first goal
of the game would come with 10:52 left in the third period to tie the
game at one. Their first goal in five and a half periods at home, that's
just not acceptable.
The Rangers would eventually lose the game in Over time in a game they
could of easily won by their play if they would of converted on their
many of chances. Three posts, C. Higgins missing right in front of the
net, Gaborik not scoring on a breakaway, just two many opportunities wasted.
Gaborik did score the Rangers one goal that would force the over time
session, but this was a game where they could of used the extra point
in the wild mix of teams grouped in striking distance of each other. Carolina
forward R. Emery would end the chances of the Rangers getting two points
in this game when he said game over putting one home over the shoulder
of the King with just 1:15 remaining in the extra session.
Carolina goalie C. Ward was clearly the best player on the ice in Saturday's
afternoons game stopping 27 of the Rangers shots and was awarded number
one star of the game.
Frustration level was high for the Rangers as they couldn't beat Ward
and kept missing their chances and it got worse when Carolina would go
up 1-0 on a Tom Kostopoulos goal with only 45 seconds left in the second
period.
Rangers were the better team, but the better team was only able to get
one point out of the two.
Next up for the Rangers are the Boston Bruins on Monday night again at
the Garden. Let's get a goal in the first period boys.
